New Napster Pricing Plan Unveiled

Best Buy may have just found a way to keep Napster relevant. Starting tonight at midnight, they're starting a new plan that gives you unlimited streaming + 5 DRM-free MP3 downloads a month for $5 per month. Worth it?

Putting aside the unlimited streaming, you can get MP3 downloads for $1. That's cheaper than iTunes. Sure it's only 5, but still, it's only $1. At that price it starts to enter the realm of "Why Not?" Add on the unlimited streaming and it gets even better. Napster has more than 60 commercial-free radio stations and 1,400 programmed playlists. Or you can listen to any song as often as you like in their 7 million + library.

Sure you can only stream the music on your computer and only put the 5 new MP3s a month on your MP3 player ... it just might be worth it for streaming audio addicts. And for only $5 you kind of have to start looking for reasons not to buy into it.

Now all you have left to do is check out the best MP3 players to listen to your new tunes; or you could go with a netbook. Some of those are small enough that you can stream the unlimited number of songs and still be mobile enough ... or you could just keep up on more exciting tech news like these other blog posts:
